Uhm...let's see: a pretty standard fifteen incher but with this snazzy new red trim. I'm going to get some new colors some time...but I have to get 'em from this parachute supply place that's kinda pricey...unless I order a bunch...and then I could probably find another supplier. Hmm. But I don't need a bunch...
I put the buckles under the flap...probably the only time I'll do this.

Hobo Accordian Moon Bag

All right, new backpack. Let's see...this is my third top-loading pack. It kind of has an unfinished look since I didn't put a flap on it, but whatev. Who needs a flap.

I'm trying straight, skinny, flexible shoulder pads this time...instead of fat curved ones.

Nothing poking out top to block your line of sight whilst biking. Yeah.

A roll-top maybe? I probably should've sewn a strap that comes over the top...but I got tired of sewing straps onto this bag. Ha.

Ah, strap placement...what a pain in the ass. Ha. There's a balance or sorts here, between pack width and comfort...at least in my opinion. The closer the straps are together, the better the fit. The wider the top of the pack, the more crap you can fit in your bag. Depending on your anatomy, there's an optimal distance between the shoulder straps. I usually put the straps too far apart, 'cause I suck...see below. So on this bag I put 'em an inch apart to be safe.

Yeah, so I put these straps on too far apart because I didn't want the flap to bend back all goofy-like when I was wearing it...but the flaps always look goofy on these kinda bags...

This pack actually feels pretty good when there's not a lot of stuff in it, but once it's full, the straps sit pretty far out on my shoulders...which doesn't feel too good. Ha.

I've decided to go back to using ladderlocs for the front compression bits on the larger bags. They're way easier to use...especially if you're wearing gloves.

I've moved the pen holster to the front. It's easier to get to and, hopefully, the pen won't get pulled out as much whilst removing other things. Yeah.

Bags To Come

Unlike a certain new San Francisco bag company, I don't have parts of my bags made in China. Oh damn. Ha...
Anyway, these are for some Sunbrella-lined fifteen-inchers. I'm trying to clean up and use all my Sunbrella fabric. I've decided that I have too much fabric in my house, and since I'm never going to buy any more Sunbrella, I want it gone. That's how I roll.For some reason I can make a bunch of these zipper pockets at a time and it doesn't get tedious...but doing a bunch of bags sucks. I guess it's 'cause these feel like finished products almost...and it doesn't take too long to finish a bunch...but with bags it seems like it takes forever to finish just three...so it delays that "yeah, I just finished a bag" feeling of satisfaction. Hmm...

Strap Pouches

I'm not a big fan of tiny strap pouches...but, you know, some people are...so whatever... Man, I suck at making a good square corner (or kinda sqare) with grosgrain. It's hard. I don't know how wallet-makers do it.

This is pretty much the only place I use Velcro. Makes it easy to put on the strap. Yeah.
